RF remote controlled Metal detecting robot using MSP430

Land mines are very popular high explosive bombs, which are used by the terrorists and Maoists; it uses heavy metal and highly explosive materials. Not only to detect these dangerous bombs, sometimes it is required to detect metals like gold, silver, iron, nickel, copper, aluminum, bronze, brass, tin and lead or the combination of them in very dangerous places in the underground mines. Detecting these bombs and variety of materials manually is very dangerous for the life. So many people lost their life for searching these metals in very dangerous places by effecting poison gases. So many police men lost their lives when they are attacked by the Maoists using land mines. Sometimes, people trying to search for these metals in areas where human cannot enter, like mountain caves, etc.,
For the above described problems, there is a requirement of a robot, where it can controlled remotely for detecting metals. In this project, a RF remote controlled Metal detecting Robot is proposed for the above described problems. It uses a simple robot car and metal detecting senor attached to it to detect various metals as listed in the above paragraph. And this robot direction can be controlled remotely by using a RF remote controller. To detect RF signals a simple RF receiver is attached to the robot car and it will move according to the directions provided by user through the RF remote. By using this metal detecting robot car, one can save lives who are working under dangerous environments.

Generally, the robot car is implemented by using simple DC motors and a microcontroller can acts as a control circuit to take care of the robot directions according to the inputs provided by the user through RF remote. An RF receiver is attached to the Microcontroller to receive the robot direction commands from the RF remote. A metal detecting sensor is attached to the robot to detect the various metals. A buzzer is connected to microcontroller to alarm the user when the metal is detected by the robot.
