Real Time Vehicle Tracking using Google Map Technology

             Now a day, many vehicles like bikes, cars etc… are theft and even missing of child is also taking place. Not only that so many big trucks or Lorries carrying goods from companies are also missing because of road accidents or truck thefting. In order reduce these problems we had come up with a solution to track the vehicle position lively i.e. by using Real Time vehicle tracking system using GPS and GSM. We can attach this to vehicle and by situating this in children’s school bags and can track their position or location. This project is not simply showing the co-ordinates of the vehicle in the LCD display. It can show the live tracking of the vehicles by pointing it in google map service.

          This project is aimed to track the vehicles giving the position of the vehicle. This can be done by using GPS (Global positioning system) and GSM (global system for mobile).

           The process of working of this project is explained as follows, AT89S52 microcontroller is used for interfacing to various hardware peripherals. The current design is an embedded application, which will continuously monitor a moving Vehicle and report the status of the Vehicle on demand. For doing so an AT89S52 microcontroller is interfaced serially to a GSM Modem and GPS Receiver. The GPS modem will continuously give the data i.e. the latitude and longitude indicating the position of the vehicle. A GSM modem is used to send the position (Latitude and Longitude) of the vehicle from a remote place in form of a SMS i.e. after capture, the tracking data (SMS) can be transmitted using GSM mobile communications network systems, and this data is received as SMS at the receiver station by using GSM modem. The received data collected by a software application developed in java, which shows the tracked object in a Google maps.
